The GRUNDOMAT pneumatic boring missile is a cylindrical air-hammer driven through the ground by compressed air. Its bores, ranging up to 7 7/8 in. or 200 mm, are used for laying pipes and cables under roadways and other surface installations.
This missile bore method can be used in all displaceable soils, including sand, loam, and gravel, even in soils containing fracturable rocks.
As a pneumatic mole, the GRUNDOMAT is not suitable for solid rock and is not designed for use against unfracturable rocks.
In very soft soils, such as swamp conditions, a boring mole may have accuracy issues because the tool’s own weight can cause it to deviate.
