When you leave equipment with us for any reason — repair, diagnosis, calibration, cleaning, or adjustment, as well as evaluation, trade-in or buy-back review, warranty review, a return, or a disputed order — whether you drop it off, ship it in, or it otherwise comes into our possession, this policy applies. For repair, cleaning, and adjustment it is the written notice required by Florida Statute 715.065; in all other cases it is the condition on which UCG accepts and holds your equipment.
6 months. Equipment not reclaimed within 6 months after the date we receive it may be sold or otherwise disposed of by UCG without liability to the owner. The 6 months run from the date of delivery to us, not from the date the repair is finished or the estimate is sent, and they apply whether the repair was completed, declined, or never approved.
We will remind you first. You'll get a notice when your equipment is ready or your estimate is declined, reminders by email and phone along the way, and a final notice by certified mail to the address on file at least 15 days before anything is disposed of.
To reclaim your equipment, pay the balance due — diagnostic fee, approved repairs and parts, any storage fee ($10 per day after 30 days from the ready notice), and return shipping if we're shipping it back — and pick it up or let us ship it. Equipment is released only to the customer on the work order or RMA, or their written designee.
If it is sold, any proceeds above our charges and costs are returned to you within 15 days of the sale. If it has no resale value and is recycled or scrapped, there are no proceeds; any unpaid balance remains due either way.
Keep your contact details current. Notices go to the email and mailing address you gave us and count as delivered when sent.
