Transmitter Warranty Policy

Warranty Period

  • Refurbished Transmitters Limited Warranty:
    • Coverage begins on the delivery date from UCG to the customer.
    • Warranty duration: 100 days for all transmitters, excluding Falcon series.
    • In the event of a warranty claim, a replacement transmitter inherits:
      • The remaining warranty of the original transmitter, or
      • 30 days from the replacement date, whichever is greater.
  • Falcon Series Transmitters:
    • Coverage includes 500 operational hours or 1 year from the delivery date, whichever comes first.
    • UCG warranties unused operational hours and the remaining time from the original warranty.

What Does the Limited Warranty Cover?

  • Covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period.
  • UCG will replace defective refurbished transmitters at no charge if the defect arises from improper materials or workmanship under normal use and maintenance.

What is Not Covered by the Limited Warranty?

The Limited Warranty excludes damage caused by:

  • Abuse, misuse, neglect, or accidents.
  • Fire, flood, or other Acts of God.
  • Improper application or connection to incorrect power sources.
  • Overheating, high voltage exposure, or harmful substances.
  • Events beyond UCG’s control.

Customer Agreement: By purchasing a UCG transmitter, the customer agrees to the terms outlined in this Limited Warranty.

Warranty Process

  1. Product Warranty Activation:
    • Activation is automatic; the Limited Warranty starts on the delivery date.
  2. Submitting a Warranty Claim:
    • Contact UCG Support by calling 727-492-6587 to initiate the warranty claim process.
  3. Claim Evaluation Process:
    • Customers must ship the transmitter to UCG for evaluation at their expense.
    • UCG will test the transmitter upon receipt to determine eligibility for warranty coverage.

Warranty Claim Outcomes

  • Covered Claims:
    • UCG will cover return shipping costs for claims deemed under warranty.
  • Non-Covered Claims:
    • Customers may choose to purchase a replacement transmitter at their discretion.

Operational Downtime Solutions

  • Warranty claims must be completed before benefits apply.
  • Loaner Sondes: UCG does not provide loaner sondes during the warranty process.
  • Immediate Operation Needs:
    • If the customer needs to drill the next day, they can purchase a backup transmitter, with overnight shipping available from UCG.
